A Tiger
tradition since 1998, the Oakville Junior Tigers (OJT) football program
dedicated to developing the next generation of athletes for Oakville High
School. The Mission of OJT is to build a feeder program for Oakville High
School while teaching our players the fundamental skills of football,
implementing and encouraging good sportsmanship, honesty, integrity, courage,
and loyalty for oneself and others; and for the OJT athletes, parents and
spectators to follow the rules of the game.
Our program is designed to bridge the gap between youth sports and elite
high school competition by fostering an environment built on Grit,
Growth, and Leadership. We believe that football is a powerful tool for
building character. Our goal is to develop strong athletes on the field and
even stronger leaders in the community.
The OJT Difference
We don’t just coach for the scoreboard; we coach for the
future. Our program is rooted in three core pillars:
Grit: We teach our players to embrace the challenge.
Success at OJT is Earned,
Not Given. We value the hard work, resilience, and discipline it takes to
compete.
Growth Mindset: Every practice and every game is an
opportunity to improve. We focus on technical development, safe tackling
fundamentals, and strategic play-calling that aligns with the Oakville High
School system.
Tiger Pride: Being a Junior Tiger means representing
the Oakville community with class and integrity. We are a family-first program
that thrives on the support of our parents, coaches, and local partners.
Tradition Starts Here Established in 1998, the Oakville Junior Tigers (OJT)
began as an independent, non-profit organization with a singular mission: to
provide an elite football experience for middle school-aged athletes within the
Oakville High School community.
OJT serves as the official feeder program for the Oakville Tigers. By the
time our athletes reach high school, they are already immersed in the culture,
terminology, and expectations of a championship-caliber program.
From the first snap in 4th grade to the final whistle
of 8th grade, we are committed to providing a professional, safe, and
high-energy experience for every family.
While we operate as a tax-exempt organization, our
strength is rooted in our deep-standing partnership with the Oakville High School Football
Program and the Mehlville
School District. Their unwavering encouragement is the backbone of our
success.
Note:
While we share a home and a mission with our schools, OJT is an independently
funded and staffed organization. We are powered entirely by the dedication of
our volunteers and the support of our Tiger families.
Our Promise
To provide a platform where every athlete is challenged
to grow, encouraged to lead, and proud to wear the Black & Gold.
OJT: Where
Future Tigers Are Made.
